Tennis team plays matches in Copperas Cove

The varsity tennis team played at Copperas Cove last Friday. Eleven teams were present, and some players were able to have as many as four matches.On the day, 10 of the 16 Lampasas players earned medals for third place or higher at the tournament.

Track teams compete at first meet of season

Six girls qualify for state powerlifting meet

Last Friday was the girls’ regional powerlifting meet, and six different Lady Badgers have qualified to lift at state later this month.Hailey Palmer and Brynnley Chappell finished first and second, respectively, in the 97-pound weight class with totals of 460 pounds and 410 pounds.

Baseball team competes at tournament in Llano

The Lampasas baseball team finished with a record of 2-1-1 at a tournament in Llano over the weekend. The Badgers beat Llano 10-9, and they beat Fredericksburg 12-2.They finished in a 4-4 tie in a contest against Wimberley, then they fell to Copperas Cove 10-2.

Lady Badger softball finishes tournament going 2-4

The Lampasas softball team competed in the Central Texas Turf Battle over the weekend, and the girls finished 2-4 against some tough competition.The Lady Badgers started with a 9-0 win over Life High, then took an 8-2 loss to East View.

Boys’ soccer team loses game on penalty kicks

Last Friday’s soccer match between the Badgers and the Gatesville Hornets came down to the final kick of the ball. The last penalty kick by Lampasas was saved by the Hornets’ goalkeeper to give Gatesville the win.The two teams played to a 1-1 draw over the 80 minutes of the game.

Soccer team uses big second half to beat Academy

On Tuesday night, the Lampasas soccer team traveled to Academy for its second-to-last district road game this season.The Badgers picked up a 5-1 win over the Bees to move to 4-2 in district play.

Last week, the Lampasas boys’ powerlifting team competed in the Brady invitational meet. Twelve athletes emerged with 70 points as a team, enough to win the event.Carter Kuhn broke the Lampasas bench press record in the 181-pound weight class with a lift of 355 pounds.
