The last two youth sports camps of the summer are taking place this week.Football camp for incoming seventh-, eighthand ninth-grade athletes is running from Monday through Wednesday, and a volleyball camp for incoming freshmen is Tuesday and Wednesday.The football camp will be from 8-10 a.m.

Former Badger returns to coach at the middle school

A former four-year varsity football player has returned to Lampasas to start coaching at the middle school level.Case Brister was a high-level linebacker and running back for the Badgers during his time on the football field.

The Toughest 10K in Texas once again drew a crowd of 400 to 500 competitors last Saturday morning in front of Lampasas Middle School.Runners participating in the 10K took off from the starting line first, followed by the5K participants, and then the 1-mile runners started last.

Kids of all ages and their parents lined the banks of the creek in W.M. Brook Park last Wednesday for the annual Kiddie Fishing Derby. Plenty of perch and catfish were caught during the two-hour Spring Ho festival event.
