Boys’ basketball loses back-and-forth game to Blanco

The Badgers traveled to Blanco Tuesday night for their second-to-last nondistrict game of the season. The boys fell behind early, trailing 14-4 after the first eight minutes. They were able to come back in the second quarter and trailed by just four points, 25-21, at the break.

The Badger soccer team started its season Tuesday with a match against Harker Heights on the road. Lampasas struggled early and gave up three goals to the fast-paced Knights in the first half.

The Badgers got back to winning after a tough basketball tournament in Fredericksburg. They posted a close victory over Stephenville on Friday. The boys came out strong and led 18-7 after the first quarter.

As the new year begins, both Lometa Hornet basketball teams will continue their quests for championships. District play begins for the varsity girls’ team on Friday at home against Lohn. The boys’ first district game is Jan. 13 in Rochelle.
