Hornets suffer two losses to district opponents

The Lometa Hornet basketball team struggled in a couple of tough losses, falling to Brookesmith and Richland Springs in games last week. Against Brookesmith, the Hornets lost 67-33. “It was just a bad game for us in general,” Lometa head coach Austin Martin said.

Kempner resident to compete in bass fishing tournament for veterans

An Army and Navy veteran who lives in Kempner is heading to Florida next month to compete in a bass fishing tournament that will air on the Sportsman Channel in the near future. Eric Metcalf is from Massachusetts originally.
