Prado advances to state again

Enrique Prado qualified for a third year in a row for the 1A state cross country meet. The Lometa senior was No. 17 out of 97 runners in the overall standings, but because the top teams do not count toward individually standings, he moved up in the rankings to the top 10 and advanced individually.

The boys’ three-mile race and the girls’ two-mile race both were held Monday in Dallas. Rylee Herring led the Lometa girls with a time of 17:51, but no Lady Hornets were able to advance to state.

Evant’s Amy Pritchard placed fifth with a time of 13:20.

The state meet is scheduled for Nov. 23 or 24. Miller Grove moves on as the region’s top team in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions.
