The Central Texas Council of Governments will launch a new regional emergency notification system through Everbridge on Sept. 1.
Everbridge will replace the CodeRED Mass Emergency Communication System across the CTCOG region, providing a more consistent and reliable way for residents, businesses and visitors to receive important emergency and community notifications.
Residents currently registered with Code RED will have their information transferred to Everbridge, but they will need to create an Everbridge account and set their notification preferences.
Area residents can receive alerts about:
• severe weather, fires, floods and other emergencies.
• road closures and transportation disruptions.
• water utility maintenance.
• emergency response information.
• other important community announcements.
Alerts can be delivered through cell phone, text message, email, home phone and other communication methods.
