Demolition underway on Lometa house property

The Lometa Independent School District on Monday began the demolition of an old house on school property, with the project likely to be completed later this week. The work was approved back in August, when the school board convened for annual budget meetings.

Structure fire causes minor damage Monday at mobile home community

On Monday afternoon, a house caught fire on Private Road 4350 in a mobile home community. Fire Marshal Jon-Paul Harris had high praise for the Lampasas Fire Department, which responded quickly to the call. “We were out on the scene quickly, but the fire was out when I had arrived,” Harris said.
