Fourteen Lampasas boys powerlifters are hitting the road to the regional meet in Gatesville on Saturday.

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge Debbie Garrett presiding over the day’s hearings.Defendant Triston Martin Holloman of Lampasas was given 15 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on a charge of sexual assault of a child.

Lampasas man receives 30 years for assault of child

Jarren Wade Morua pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony, during 27th District Court proceedings March 6.Morua, 29, of Lampasas, was sentenced to 30 years in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice facility.

Water alliance accepts Lampasas County, city as members

Lampasas County and the city of Lampasas are official members of the Central Texas Water Alliance.At the CTWA Board of Directors meeting March 5 in Waco, members accepted the two Lampasas governmental entities into the alliance along with four water purveyors.

Highway widening planned between Lometa and Lampasas

Preparations are ongoing for a Texas Department of Transportation project that will widen U.S. Highway 183 between Lampasas and Lometa.

Storm passes through, continuing windy trend

A tree limb in east Lampasas split and fell after high winds Tuesday night and early Wednesday. A Lower Colorado River Authority station west of Lampasas reported 0.97 inches of rain from the storm.

Kempner to pursue street improvements, security camera upgrades at city park

Kempner City Council members agreed to pursue road improvements along Pecan Street and Pedernales Lane during a special called meeting March 3.Also, council members gave the OK to install new security cameras at Sylvia Tucker Memorial Park.
