City hosts Moonlight Swim

Swimmers gathered at the Hancock Park Free-Flow Swim Area Friday night for an evening dip in the mineral spring waters. The next Moonlight Swim will be offered July 28 from 7-11 p.m.

BRIGGS STREET CLOSED The city of Lampasas has announced that Briggs Street will be closed from Fourth Street to Bridge through Tuesday for repairs.

When it rains... it burns?

Meteorologists have predicted both extreme heat and possible storm activity to start the weekend.  The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory Friday at 12:06 p.m., effective until 8 p.m. Saturday for the Lampasas area and the surrounding counties.

Saratoga Masonic Lodge in Lampasas recently held various awards presentations. On June 1, the lodge presented the Golden Trowel Award to Randy Lake for his service over many years as a Mason.

Mobile home engulfed by flames

A mobile home located on County Road 3100 outside the Kempner city limits was consumed by flames last Friday night. Lampasas Fire Marshal J.P. Harris said the vacant property was being used for storage and suffered a complete loss.

Moonlight Swim offered Friday at Hancock Springs pool

The city of Lampasas will host a Moonlight Swim at the Hancock Springs Free-Flow Swim area tonight from 7-11 p.m. General admission is $5 per person. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase. Live music will be provided by Saddle the Wind, Junior Myers and friends.
