Learning about wine-making process

The Lampasas County Wine Tour took participants to several area wineries, where visitors could learn more about the wine-making process and sample locally produced beverages.

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened most recently on Sept. 15, with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. At that time, the court announced the following cases would be among those heard in November: Plea hearing Nov.

Lampasas High School student arrested for alleged firearm threats

A Lampasas High School student was arrested Tuesday morning after police said he made a firearm-related threat. After a Lampasas Police Department investigation, Noah William Randall, 17, was arrested at LHS on a charge of threat/exhibiting/use of a firearm at a school – a Class A misdemeanor.

Commissioners approve road hand pay raise

The Lampasas County Commissioners Court approved a small pay raise for precinct road hands during its regular meeting on Monday morning. Precinct 1 Commissioner Bobby Carroll brought the matter to the attention of the court to help keep pay competitive for county road workers.

Portion of Naruna Road, U.S. 281 to be closed temporarily

The city of Lampasas will be relocating utilities at the intersection of Naruna Road and U.S. Highway 281 South in preparation for widening of the highway. Crews will be working in this area through Oct. 5. Naruna Road, from the highway to the golf course, as well as one lane of U.

CATTLE AUCTION

The report from the Sept. 27 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 505, compared to 657 last sale and 587 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers were steady; heifers $3-$7 lower.
