KWSC customers complain of greenish hue to water

Kempner Water Supply Corp. announced Wednesday it will convert its disinfectant used in the distribution system from chloramine to free chlorine from June 14 through July 14.The decision comes after KWSC members expressed concerned about a greenish tint to their water.

Court records head to Dallas for digitizing

A crew from Kofile Premium Services was at the Lampasas County Clerk’s Office on Monday to load the 748 bound volumes of the county’s land and title records from the last 30 years. The material will be scanned and digitized as part of a new e-document system being implemented.

HSE names students who earned citizenship, attendance awards

The counseling office at Hanna Springs Elementary School has released its list of end-of-year student honors for the term.The A honor roll and A-B honor roll ran in a previous edition. Lampasas County grand jury convened Wednesday to finish the January term.In a case brought by Lampasas County Attorney John Greenwood, William Thomas Dunson IV was indicted on a charge of possession of a controlled substancemethamphetamine on April 5.

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings.Defendant Lorena Anne Hamilton of Kempner pleaded guilty to a charge of claim a lottery prize by fraud greater than $200 and less than or equal to $10,000.

Seal coat work performed around county

Road maintenance crews put down seal coating on targeted roadways this week. State Loop 257 (East Fourth Street) through the downtown Lampasas area received a thin layer of the protective asphalt and rock on Tuesday.
