DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings.

Orlando Matthew Foix of Lampasas had plea hearings on Nov. 13. He pleaded guilty to one charge of burglary of a building and one charge of evading arrest/detention with a previous conviction. Foix was found guilty on both charges and was sentenced to three years in the Texas Department of Corrections for each, with credit given for days served toward the sentence. He also must pay court costs of $315 on each charge.

Foix also entered a plea of true on a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram and was found true. He received three years in the TDC on that charge as well, with credit for days served. He is to pay $365 In court costs related to that charge.

In other court action, Roland Balderas Vasquez of Lampasas pleaded guilty to a charge of burglary of a building. He was sentenced to 10 years’ deferred adjudication and must complete a Substance Abuse Felony Punishment Facility program.

In addition, Vasquez was ordered to pay a fine of $1,500, court costs of $365 and restitution of $2,600 to Bridge & Auto Sales.

At a Nov. 13 competence review for Jaydan Isaac DeLeon, the court signed a dismissal for the Copperas Cove man, with an outpatient plan for mental services. DeLeon had faced a charge of harassment of a public servant.

The following individuals failed to show for their Nov. 13 hearings:

Samuel Clarence Anthony Page of Kempner did not answer when called for his pretrial hearing OF BURNET on a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram. A capias warrant was to be issued for him.

Anthony Gregory Trent of Harker Heights did not answer when called for his pretrial hearing on a charge of fraudulent use/possession of identifying information – number of items fewer than five. A capias warrant was to be issued.

Johnny Russell Keeter of Hamilton failed to answer when called for his pretrial hearing on a charge of credit card or debit card abuse. A capias warrant was to be issued.

In 27th District Court action held Nov. 16, defendant Roy Gene Sewell of Lampasas had pretrial hearings planned on three charges: driving while intoxicated-third or more, assault on a public servant and possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram. Those have been reset to Dec. 4.

Scheduled for Nov. 20 is an adjudication hearing for Felix Ybarra of Lampasas on a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram in a drug-free zone. The court reduced Ybarra’s bond to $1,500. After a break for Thanksgiving, 27th District Court will resume hearings next month. Slated for Dec. 4 action are these cases:

Pretrial hearings for Lonnie Wayne Johnson of Copperas Cove, on a charge of deadly conduct-discharge of firearm and a charge of driving while intoxicated-third or more.

Pretrial hearing for Dude Edward Beabout of Lampasas, on a charge of theft of property more than $2,500 and less than $30,000.

Pretrial hearing for Alana Marie Lopez of Temple, on a charge of evading arrest/detention with a vehicle.

Pretrial hearing for Michael Ray Haggerton of Kempner, on a charge of burglary of a building.

Pretrial hearing for Devin Warren Nevilles of Robstown, on four separate charges of tamper with a government record with intent to defraud/harm another.

Pretrial hearing for Donald Wayne Smith of Lampasas, on a charge of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit other felony.

Pretrial hearing for Noel Ishmael Graves-Medina of Kempner, on a charge of sexual assault of a child.

Adjudication hearing for Felix Flores Erebia of Lometa, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance greater than or equal to 4 grams and less than 200 grams. An attorney was appointed for the defendant.

A review for Theodor Patrick Aleman of Lampasas, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram.
