Badgers set to finish non-district schedule at Lorena

For one final time this season, the Badger football team will head on the road to complete the non-district schedule as they take on Lorena Thursday night.

Chief appraiser addresses budget amendments

Meteorologists: arctic front coming Tuesday

National Weather Service Meteorologists are predicting an ‘arctic front’ to arrive in Central Texas on Tuesday, bringing possible single-digit temperatures to Lampasas.“An arctic cold front will arrive on Tuesday with temperatures falling during the daytime.

Badgers and Lady Badgers win home powerlifting meet

Both the Badger and Lady Badger powerlifting teams picked up first-place finishes at the home powerlifting meet last Thursday. The full results from the event will be available in Friday's edition of the Dispatch Record. 

Another water shut-off ahead

UPDATE: On Friday at 1:36 p.m., the city of Lampasas rescinded the boil water notice for Lampasas water users.  On Friday at 11:18 a.m., Kempner Water Supply Corporation officials issued a statement to answer questions received following the second line leak this week.

KWSC notifies of main line leak

Updates: At 1:44 p.m. Wednesday, city of Lampasas officials said work to repair the line was ongoing. “Repair work continues with excavators and welders on site. We currently do not have a time frame for completion; however, we should have a better idea of restoration in the next 2 to 3 hours.

Two Lampasas women fatally shot, suspect ends own life

Authorities confirmed Friday a barricaded suspect was responsible for a Thursday shooting that left two Lampasas women dead. The perpetrator of the double homicide had no prior connection with his victims, authorities said.

Flood watch still in effect Thursday morning

Lampasas County will face another round of thunderstorms this morning, and flooding remains possible. The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch that will remain effective through 1 a.m. Friday morning for Lampasas, Hamilton, Coryell, Bell and surrounding counties.
