UPDATE: At 4:44 p.m., the NWS issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Lampasas, effective until 5:45 p.m. Avoid road travel if possible and seek shelter indoors.

Storms possible tonight and Tuesday

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for Lampasas County on Monday evening. The outlook was issued Monday at 2:27 p.m. and includes Lampasas, Coryell, Bell, Hamilton and surrounding counties.

Severe storms predicted for Thursday afternoon

Update: At 6:14 p.m., the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the area to last until 7:15 p.m. Severe storms are expected this afternoon, accompanying a front moving southeast across the region.
