A house fire Monday morning on Snell Drive displaced four people and killed three family pets — two dogs and one cat, officials said.
Among the people displaced were two children. The family is staying with other family members, Fire Marshal Ronnie Withers said.

Lampasas Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Chane Rascoe announced that face masks will continue to be required for both students and staff.
Last week, LISD sent out surveys to all 670 staffers asking for their opinion on removing face masks in schools.

The Lampasas City Council is moving forward with plans to revive the historic Hostess House.
During its regular meeting Monday night, the council voted unanimously to hire Austin-based Reliance Architecture to draw up plans for upgrades to the limestone building.

During the Lampasas City Council workshop session Monday, Lampasas Fire Chief Jeff Smith reported a decrease in cases of the coronavirus. Smith also serves as the city’s emergency management coordinator.
“I continue to have good news as it relates to COVID-19,” Smith said.

About 250 people gathered at the Lampasas County Law Enforcement Center Wednesday afternoon for its grand opening.
Guests included elected officials, county jail staff and members of surrounding police departments.
