Farmers and ranchers across the Lone Star State will meet in Corpus Christi in December as part of the 88th annual meeting of the Texas Farm Bureau (TFB), the state’s largest general farm and ranch organization.

County judge urges residents to get COVID-19 vaccinations

With the increase in confirmed cases of COVID-19, as a result of the Delta variant, County Judge Randy Hoyer this week encouraged all Lampasas County residents to get vaccinated. The judge added that he received a two-shot dose of the Moderna vaccine in April.

AdventHealth to Host Blood Drive Thursday

AdventHealth Rollins Brook will host a blood drive for Carter BloodCare on Thursday, July 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations will be collected in a Carter BloodCare bus located in front of the hospital. All donors will receive a BOGO Texas Rangers ticket voucher.

Lampasas County Sheriff seeks more detention officers

During his Lampasas County Commissioners Court update Monday about the new county law enforcement center, Sheriff Jess Ramos said his department needs more manpower. Ramos said with more space at the new jail, more detention officers are needed.

Community helps family displaced by Monday house fire

The early-morning hours of March 15 will forever affect the Fields family.  Around 1:56 a.m., husband and father of two Brandon Fields was awakened by a power outage. With his wife Tara, they investigated the home.
