Cade White finishes ninth in state long jump

Cade White jumped 20 feet, 6 ¼ inches to finish ninth out of nine at the 4A boys’ long jump at state. He had earned a silver medal at regionals -- with his personal best (22’0.25”) -- and a gold at area, but tweaked his knee on the first jump at state on Thursday.

Registration open for summer conditioning

Lampasas ISD Athletics invites all incoming seventh-through 12-grade Badger and Lady Badger athletes to the 2021 Speed, Weights and Agility Training (SWAT). The summer conditioning program will be held at Lampasas High School from 8-10 a.m. four days a week, beginning June 1.

LHS, LMS will offer athletic physicals on campus this month

Athletic physicals will be offered May 13 at Lampasas High School from 8 a.m. to noon at the fieldhouse, and on May 18 at Lampasas Middle School from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bozarth-Fowler Gym. Family Medicine Clinic will send providers to perform the physicals. The cost is $20.

Badgers’ batting on a roll

In the last warm-up game before this week’s baseball playoffs, the Badgers lost 14- 10 to Conference 6A Harker Heights. Lampasas (12-16-1) has averaged more than 13 hits per game over the past three games, including the 14 against the Knights on Monday.

Lady Badger basketball awards announced

Rachel Myles was named the LHS girls’ basketball Battlin’ Badger. The team’s banquet was held Monday. This season was the Lady Badgers’ fourth in a row to reach the playoffs, and coach Mark Myers earned his 900th career win.
