Bonnie Gay Loden, 73, of Lampasas, died July 14, 2026, peacefully at home.
Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on July 25 at 2 p.m., with visitation an hour prior. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Bonnie was born on Nov. 27, 1952, to Tom and Della Mae Loden.
She graduated from Lampasas High School and stayed in the area her whole life. She served the Lampasas Police Department as a dispatcher, then worked at Rollins Brook hospital and later at the Ellen Halbert Unit as a correctional officer.
Bonnie was blessed to have part of her parent's homestead. It took her several years to make the improvements she needed on her farmhouse, pastures and cattle. Her hard work and determination made her vision come true.
She gained many friends while seeking the antiques she loved. From reading to baseball, all things Western to traveling far and wide, she led a colorful life. She was proud of her sons and their families. She enjoyed time spent with them and being called 'Ma.' Her last trip was with sons and their family where Bonnie ran circles around everyone (toddlers included).
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Dean Loden; stepbrother, Joe Boyd Cox; and her stepmother, Lozelle Cox Loden.
She is survived by her brothers Rick Loden and Geary Loden; her sons, Joe (Jodi) Strickland and Cody (Rebekah) Strickland; stepson, Jack and family; grandchildren Luci Jane, Vaughan and Wesley; several nieces and nephews; Rick's wife, Peggie; and very good friend, Betty.
