Mrs. Phillips

Wanda Louise Phillips, 68, of Lampasas died on March 3, 2022 at Lily Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lampasas. Wanda had lived most of her life in Lampasas.

She was born on Dec. 16, 1953 in Austin to Benny and Gladys (Stinnett) Brown. She graduated from Lampasas High School and then went to cosmetology school.

She worked for more than 40 years as a hairdresser, managing several salons and finally owning and operating her own shop.

She was a member of Church of the Hills in Lometa, and was a member of the praise team there until illness prevented her from participating.

Wanda loved Jesus, the Bible, animals, her family and her church family. She was a sports fan, having played softball for several years. She loved the Cowboys, the Texas Rangers and the Round Rock Express. Wanda was an avid reader of Christian novels.

She is survived by two sons, Heath Phillips and wife Tonya of Lampasas, and Corey Phillips and wife Paula of Kingsland; two daughters, Samantha Phillips of Cedar Park, and Courtney Vaughan and husband Adam of Lewisville; four brothers, Bobby, Lester, Gary and Ty Brown; five grandchildren, Jaden Phillips, Callie Phillips, Lexy Wangler, Adam Vaughan Jr., and Alison Vaughan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Maxine Brown Moore.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. March 9 at Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Warner Cemetery in Burnet County. Chance Carter will officiate the service. A livestream of the service will be available at heritagefuneraltx.com under her name.
