Velma Edwards, 75, a longtime resident of Lampasas, died at her residence on Feb. 19, 2022.
She was born in Lampasas on Oct. 31, 1946, to Elton Machen and Lottie Wheelus Machen.
She and Robert Edwards were married on April 1, 1992, in Lampasas at their home.
Velma was happy being a stay-at-home mom. She loved to cook, bake and to can her own vegetables. She also loved to search for enticing recipes on Pinterest. Her pride and joy were her 14 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Robert G. Edwards of Lampasas; two sons, Greg Edwards and wife Kim, and Barry Edwards and wife Wanda, all of Ridgecrest, California; five daughters, Sandra Bradley and husband Gerald of Lampasas, Vickie Clark and husband Russell of Lampasas, Kim Smith and husband Carter of Wimberley, Misty Kirkpatrick and husband Travis of Liberty Hill, and Lisa Edwards and husband Bill Meyer of Ventura, California; one sister, Martha Crownover of Lewisville, Texas; grandchildren Shera, LeAnn, Jaclyn, Garrett, Wesley, Haley, Jacey, Cal, Tanner, Levi, Crystal, Jessica, Blake and Katherine; and by 20 great-grandchildren.
Velma was preceded in death by one son, Charles Alexander; one granddaughter, Tamara Bradley; one brother, Elton Machen Jr.; and one sister, Margaret Machen.
Visitation took place Feb. 21 at Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 22 at Nix Cemetery, with Roland Schaub to officiate.
