David Owen Rice, 74, of Lampasas died in Lampasas on Oct. 12, 2021.
He was born on Dec. 1, 1946, in Findlay, Ohio to Lester Rice and Ruth Ede Rice.
He had lived in Lampasas for the past three years, after moving from San Antonio.
David married Faithann Smith on Feb. 14, 1989 in Copperas Cove.
David served in the United States Army for 22 years, retiring from Fort Hood as an equipment supervisor. After retirement from the military, he worked at Stanley Insurance in and around the Central Texas area.
He loved doing research on his computer on varied topics.
He is survived by his wife, Faithann Rice, of Lampasas; one son, Steven Rice of Austin; one daughter, Stefanie Wrenn of San Antonio; two brothers, Steve Rice of Findlay and Mark Rice of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; a son-in-law, Russell Wrenn; and five grandchildren, Jakob Wrenn, Asher Wrenn, Cooper Wrenn, Bentlee Sulak and Erik Rice.
No services are planned. David will be cremated, and his ashes will be scattered by his family at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
