David Osborne Bryant Jr., 54, of Lampasas died on July 29, 2021, with his companion dog Bolo.
Visitation will be held at Sneed Funeral Chapel on Aug. 6 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Aug. 7, also at Sneed Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
David was born April 5, 1967 in Burnet, and he resided in Lampasas most of his life.
David attended school in the Lampasas Independent School District. He excelled in academics and art, played football and ran track. His record in track was not broken for 34 years.
He graduated from Lampasas High School in 1985, after which he worked with his father at the family business, Modern Cleaners. He later got a job working for the Williams House, working with at-risk youth.
He attended Devry University in New York, and while living in New York was called to assist in the cleanup of the first attack on the World Trade Center. David then moved to Dallas and worked in the information technology field.
He married Paulette Shehee in 2007, and they later moved back to Lampasas.
He was employed as a corrections officer for three years with TDCJ and eventually landed his dream job in commercial trucking. David’s faith was Jehovah’s Witnesses.
David was preceded in death by his father, David Osborne Bryant Sr. in 2018.
He is survived by his mother, Delores Bryant; his fiancée, Melissa Kemp; his children, Devin Bryant, Deavyn Barina, Damion Bryant, Laylah Bryant, Brooklyn Bryant and their mother, Paulette Bryant; grandson, Elijah; sister, LaTonya Bryant; brother, Vincent Bryant and wife, Tracie; niece Harlow; brother, Chris Oldham and wife, Michelle; sister, Angie Wells and husband, Randy; and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.
