Caroline Mae Krans, 96, of Lampasas died on Father’s Day, June 20, 2021, at home.
Memorial services will be held June 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church. Memorial gifts may be made to the church.
She will be cremated and buried at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen at a later date.
Caroline was born on May 5, 1925 to Ernest Nelson and Hilma Nelson in Norway, Michigan, where she spent her childhood.
She married Edward O. Krans on May 9, 1943 in Chicago. They lived in Chilton, Wisconsin and Austin, Texas; and moved to Lampasas in 1982.
Caroline worked in the purchasing department at The University of Texas and later at St. Paul's Lutheran School in Austin.
Caroline was an accomplished pianist and often was accompanied by her husband on the violin. She served as organist at various churches including Faith Lutheran in Lampasas.
She loved to send cards and write letters, as well as to crochet. She was baptized at Swedish Lutheran Church in Norway, Michigan, and confirmed into the Lutheran faith on Feb. 29, 1948.
Caroline was preceded in death by her husband in 2007.
She is survived by two sons, Glen Krans (Faye) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Neil Krans (Dorothy) of Pevely, Missouri; two daughters, Claire Neagley (Richard) of Horsham, Pennsylvania, and Kay Gillian Parcher of Winnsboro, Texas; a sister, Bae Schneider of Coleman, Michigan; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
