Ruth Hardy, 97, died on May 1, 2021, in Lampasas.
Visitation will be held May 6 from 5-7 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. May 7 at Lometa Church of Christ, with interment to follow at Senterfitt Cemetery.
Ruth was born on July 26, 1923 to Benjamin Lonnie and Ellie Elizabeth Gossett in Hill County, Texas. She grew up in San Saba and Bend.
She married James Ivan Hardy in 1945.
Ruth was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Lometa. She was preceded in death by her husband; siblings T.G. Gossett, James Gossett, Walter Gossett, Bill Gossett and Ruby Gossett Null.
Survivors include her daughter, Janice Miles and husband David; son, Les Hardy and wife Barbara; grandchildren Russell Hardy and wife Brandy, Michael Hardy, Eryn Hardy Self and husband Daniel, Jesse McGuire and wife Brianna, and Micah McGuire and wife Michelle; and great-grandchildren James Hardy, Alexandra Wilcoxen, Jackson McGuire, Peyton Wilcoxen, Joshua McGuire, Levi McGuire and Lyvia Self.
Donations can be made in Ruth's name to Cherokee Home for Children.
