Mr. Straley

Albert Harroll Straley, 80, of Lampasas died on April 10, 2021 at his home.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. May 8 at Straley Cemetery in Adamsville. Sneed Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.

Albert was born on Nov. 11, 1940 in Lampasas to Albert and Annie (Beavers) Straley.

He grew up in Adamsville and graduated from Lampasas High School in 1959. After high school, he began a career as a mechanic.

He enjoyed watching the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers any chance he could. His favorite sports to watch, though, were those of his grandchildren. He was their biggest supporter.

Albert married Virginia Weightman in 1962, in Dumas. They were married for 20 years.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife; brothers Ray Straley and Edmond Straley; sister, Wynell Creek; and a great-granddaughter, Serenity Castaneda.

Survivors include his daughters Shelly Straley and Becky Straley, both of Lampasas; son, Dusty Straley of Lufkin; grandchildren Lindsey Jones (Greg) of Canyon, Christopher Straley (Josephina) of Steilacoom, Washington, Timothy Olivarez II (Lauren) of Lampasas, Justin Jones of Lampasas, Bianca Olivarez of Lampasas, Ethan Straley (Rachel) of Hutchins, Mariah Clary (Bart) of Lampasas, Marlena Mueller (Ricky) of Mesquite, Brandon Straley and Brandi Straley; sisters Nancy Campbell (Keith) of Sangerville, Maine, Betty Borg of Georgetown, Texas, and Sue Hehman (Harvey) of Taylor; brothers Roy Straley of Lampasas, Larry Straley of Adamsville, Carroll Straley (Wanda) of Welch, Gery Straley (Marcia) of Wolfforth and Jackie Straley (Ann) of Cedar Park; 11 greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
