Cross country teams race at site of district meet

The varsity and junior varsity boys’ and girls’ cross country teams competed last week in Marble Falls at the Leo Manzano Invitational.The varsity boys ran in an extremely competitive 5A/6A division and came in eighth overall. Brayden Phillips was the best individual finisher for Lampasas.

Badgers looking to rebound against Lorena Leopards

After last week’s loss to Waco University, the Badgers will look to get back to their winning ways when they host the Lorena Leopards tonight on Badger Field. The Leopards are 1-3 this season, but Lampasas head coach Troy Rogers warned that record could be deceptive.

Badgers suffer first loss in heartbreaking fashion

As the clock wound down with under 15 seconds left to play, the Badger defense was on the field for fourth down in a game tied at 21-21 against the Waco University Trojans.A 38-yard pass found its mark, and the Trojans scored to take a 28-21 lead with eight seconds left.

Lometa wins big on Homecoming night; now 5-0 this season

Lometa controlled most of its Homecoming game against Covington, prevailing over the Owls by a score of 67-14.Lometa ended the game at halftime via the mercy rule and completed Homecoming festivities after the end of the game.

Lady Badgers struggle in two district matches

Last Friday and this Tuesday, the Lady Badger volleyball team took on Burnet and Gateway in district contests.Against Burnet, Lampasas lost in three sets: 15-25, 8-25, 4-25.Brylie Turner, Jacie Resa and Julia Ybarra had one ace each.

Freshman, JV football teams win over University

The varsity football game against Waco University took place Thursday night in Waco, so the junior varsity and freshman games were moved up to Wednesday this week.Both Lampasas teams picked up wins, starting with the junior varsity’s 30-18 victory.

Tennis team picks up couple of district wins

Over the last two weeks of September, the Lampasas tennis team traveled to Brownwood and Glen Rose for the second and third district matches of the fall season.The Badgers emerged victorious in both matches -- one very closely contested, and the other in dominant fashion.
