Lady Badgers lasso Lady Mustangs to end losing streak

The Lady Badger softball team put a stop to its four-game losing skid with a 9-3 win over Marble Falls last Thursday.The Lady Badgers played their cleanest game in awhile, as they made just one error in the contest.

Badger tennis sending four teams to regional tournament

The Lampasas tennis team traveled to Taylor last week for the district tennis tournament. Lampasas qualified four individual teams that will move forward to compete at the regional tournament.

Golf teams finish first and second at district tournament

Last Wednesday and Thursday, both the boys’ and girls’ golf teams competed at the district golf tournament at Legends Golf Club in Kingsland.The Lampasas boys emerged as the district champions, and the girls placed second. Both teams will advance to the regional tournament.

Middle school boys sweep district track meet

Both junior high boys’ track teams ran away with the district title at last week’s meet in Lago Vista.The LMS seventh-grade team won by over 40 points, scoring 87 total. The team standing:1. Lampasas Middle School – 1872. Salado Middle School – 146.333. Burnet Middle School – 1344.

Baseball wraps up series against Gateway with dominant win

After the drama of the walk-off home run in last Tuesday’s contest with Georgetown Gateway, the Badgers made quicker work of Thursday’s game behind two crooked innings and a dominant performance on the mound from Calvin Phelps to secure an 8-1 win.Phelps pitched the full seven innings.

Both Lometa golf teams move on to regional tournament

On Monday, the Lometa boys’ and girls’ golf teams competed at their district tournament in San Saba, and both qualified for the regional competition.According to coach Kolby Hesbrook, Madison Henry was the top overall finisher and district champion for the second year in a row.

Softball team loses lead, falls to Jarrell Tuesday night

The Lady Badger softball team saw its 5-0 lead disappear in a tough loss to Jarrell on Tuesday night.The Lady Badgers jumped all over the Lady Cougars early in the game, as they scored all five of their runs in the first inning. Brooklyn Farmer drove in Maylee Kates to open the scoring.

Walkoff Tank

One crack of the bat in the bottom of the seventh inning turned a 1-1 tied ball game into a 3-1 victory over Georgetown Gateway. Badger Cory White launched a ball out to left field that carried over the wall, as the players in the dugout and crowd in the bleachers erupted with cheers.
