Rules for upcoming Cardboard Regatta at Spring Ho

The city’s Parks & Recreation Department-sponsored Cardboard Regatta will be held during Spring Ho festivities July 12. The competition takes place at Hanna Springs Swimming Pool at 3 p.m.Rules for the event are listed below.• The entire boat must be built from cardboard and duct tape.

Former Lady Badger has solid first college season

Former Lampasas High School softball standout Aspen Wheeler took advantage of her opportunities in her freshman campaign at Rider University in the Northeast.Wheeler helped stabilize her team defensively, taking over at shortstop and having a fielding percentage of .951.

Former Badger heading west for final collegiate baseball season

After spending all of the most recent baseball season dealing with injury and rehab at The University of Texas, former Badger standout Ace Whitehead will head out west to play for the University of Southern California Trojans in his final collegiate baseball season.

Hornets hire new athletic director/head football coach

A new man is in charge of the athletic program for Lometa ISD, as Terrance Wadley has been hired from Santa Anna ISD to take over the athletic department and serve as the head football coach for the Hornets.

Summer swim camp held in Lampasas last three weeks

The annual Summer Swim Camp Lampasas was held from Tuesday through Thursday for three weeks from May 27 through June 12.According to swim camp organizer Kristi Allison, there were two age groups: those 6 to 10 years old, and those from 11-18.

Former Lampasas coach and principal helping youth 7-on-7

A former Lampasas football coach and high school principal is now working with younger Badgers through the Building Badger Youth League. Joey McQueen is helping fifth- and sixthgrade student athletes play football.
