Badgers’ season comes to an end after loss in the area round

Lampasas lost to the Decatur Eagles in the second round of the playoffs Friday to end the basketball season.
The final score was 80-44.
The Badgers finished as district and bi-district champions for the first time in five years.
Kaeden Crawford led Lampasas in scoring with 16 points in the game.

Hornets lose to Strawn in the second round

The Lometa Hornets competed against the Strawn Greyhounds in the second round of the playoffs last week and lost 75-60.
The Hornets were outscored 19-8 in the second quarter, and that created a deficit they could not overcome.

Lady Badgers shut out Jarrell for district win

The Lady Badgers secured their fourth district win of the year after beating the Jarrell Lady Cougars 3-0 on the road.
“We have officially beat our district record from last year, and the girls are so excited,” Lampasas head coach Emma Sharp said.

Badgers fall to Jarrell in district soccer action

The Badgers traveled to Jarrell Friday looking to get back in the win column, but they came up just short. Jarrell took the match 2-1.
The Badgers are now 2-8 in district play, but they have seen improvement and had a lot of new faces play throughout the year.

Lady Badgers sending 16 lifters to regional meet

The Lady Badgers have qualified 16 different lifters to compete in the regional powerlifting meet this week.
The event will take place Friday in Dublin, where the Lady Badgers will look to put up big numbers and continue to advance.

Badgers win bi-district playoff; face Decatur for area championship

Lampasas will play a second-round basketball playoff game for the second year in a row after beating Iowa Park in Abilene 63-50 to win the bi-district championship.
The Badgers jumped out to a quick lead and were up 14-4 in the first quarter, but they could not stretch the lead further than that.

Powerlifting team competes in small meet before regionals

Both the Lampasas boys’ and girls’ powerlifting teams went to San Saba last week to participate in a smaller meet before regional competition begins in March.
The boys’ team took 14 lifters.

Lady Badgers fall to state-ranked team

The Lady Badger soccer team hosted the Lake Belton Lady Broncos for the second time this year and came out on the losing side.
The 6-0 loss was a slight improvement over the 7-0 defeat the Lady Badgers suffered on the road earlier this season.
