Former Badger jumping to the world championships

A former Badger and Texas Longhorn is headed to Eugene, Oregon later this month to compete for a medal at the 2022 World Athletic Championships. Steffin McCarter is coming off an appearance at the 2020 Olympics, and he jumped 8.15 meters last week to finish second at the U.S. trials.

New coaches looking to make an impact on Badger athletics

The Badgers will have four new coaches on their high school football coaching staff for the fall. Ty Kuhn will be an assistant head coach alongside head coach Troy Rogers, as well as a defensive position coach. He comes to Lampasas with a lot of defensive coordinator experience.

Badgers finish undefeated, with two more convincing wins

Lampasas basketball hosted San Saba and Marble Falls in the final two games of the summer league, and the Badgers came out on top in both games. The Badgers beat San Saba 59-31, where they were led in scoring by Carter Johnson.

Lady Badgers come up short in final two games

The Lady Badgers took on Marble Falls and San Saba Monday afternoon in their final two summer league games of the month. In game one, Marble Falls beat the Lady Badgers 40-20. The Lampasas girls struggled on offense and turned the ball over frequently, leading to points on the other end.

Badgers’ full football schedule now available

The Badgers are one step closer to the beginning of the 2022 football season, as the schedule is officially released. With a new district this year after realignment, fans should be excited for a little bit of a different look.

50 kids participate in Badger summer tennis camp

Over four days last week, 50 youth of different ages went to Lampasas High School for tennis camp. Thirteen were in the first- to third-grade group, 21 in the fourth- to sixth-grade group, and 16 in the seventh- to ninth-grade group.

Awards handed out during annual car cruise

The annual Sulphur Creek Car Cruise took place in Lampasas last weekend, and car enthusiasts from all over came to show off their vehicles and check out others’ entries. Award winners from the event were as follows. Best of Show went to Bill Kirkland and his 1957 Bel-Air.

The Badgers traveled to Georgetown Monday afternoon for their weekly 7-on-7 league, and they took on Liberty Hill and Salado. In the first game against the Panthers, the Badgers won three scores to two.
