The Lady Badger softball team is less than a week away from starting its district schedule and the quest for a district championship. The girls are coming off a 5-1 weekend at a Central Texas tournament.

Badgers lose opening district game by one run

The Badger baseball team started the district schedule Tuesday night with a road game against Marble Falls. Lampasas struggled to get the bats going and managed only one hit. That hit by JT Posten came in the seventh inning.

Boys’ soccer team loses to Salado on the road

The Badgers played their final road game of the year on Tuesday night in Salado against the Eagles. Although the Badgers lost the game 5-0, head coach Samuel Burnside was much happier with his team’s level of play compared to last week’s match against Stephenville.

Badgers finish 1-3 in Llano tournament

The Badger baseball team played in its second-to-last tournament of the season in Llano. They went 1-3 on the weekend but played several close games and competed with high-quality opponents.

LHS competes at tennis tournament in China Spring

Last Friday, the tennis team traveled to China Spring for a tournament that had been delayed from Thursday because of inclement weather. Amore Zapata/Caroline White placed third in doubles. Chesley Breuer finished in second place in singles competition.

Lady Badgers finish 5-1 at Turf Battles tournament

The Lady Badger softball team competed in both Jarrell and Salado as part of the I-35 Turf Battles tournament from Thursday through Saturday. In their six games over the three days, they finished 5-1 with stellar offense the entire weekend.

Four Lady Badgers qualify for state powerlifting meet

On Friday, the Lady Badger lifters traveled to Dublin High School for the regional powerlifting meet. They placed second as a team out of 11 schools, and four individual lifters are heading to the state meet. The state-qualifiers are Alison Gonzalez, Lauren Hollace, Nimsi Vergara and Addison Berry.

Soccer teams struggle in losses to Stephenville

The Lampasas boys’ and girls’ soccer teams played host to Stephenville last Friday, and both teams came up short against a very tough opponent. The Lady Badgers lost 11-1 with the lone goal coming from Ariana Bermudez.

The Lady Badger softball team was dominant Tuesday night in its final non-district home game of the season. The Lady Badgers defeated Manor New Tech 15-0 after just three innings of play.
