The first-round playoff game between the Lampasas Badgers and the Uvalde Coyotes could not have gone much better for Lampasas. The 52-0 win came on the heels of the Badgers’ best four quarters of football this season.

The Lady Badger basketball team picked up its first win of the season during the Leander Rouse tournament last weekend. On Thursday, the Lady Badgers split their two games against Boerne Champion and Dripping Springs. The first win came against Dripping Springs, 53-48.

Basketball action tips off today, as the Badgers hit the road for their first regular-season game against Eastside Memorial. The subvarsity games will start at 6 p.m., and the varsity contest will follow. This season for the Badgers holds plenty of potential.

Playing football in mid-November is the goal for every high school team in the state when the season starts. The Badgers have made a habit of going to these playoff games, and it is no different in 2023. The team will take on the Uvalde Coyotes tonight in the bi-district round of the playoffs.

Badgers finish final scrimmages, start basketball season Tuesday

The Badger basketball team competed Tuesday night in scrimmages against three separate teams. They played an eightminute, live quarter against Salado that they won 14-10, and then took on Brownwood, winning 15-10.
