Three youth summer camps running this week

Summer athletic camps got started on Monday, with both the youth tennis camp and a youth basketball camp underway. Then later this week on Thursday and Friday, there will be a softball and baseball camp as well.The tennis camp will run through Wednesday. Each day the camp will run from 8-11:30 a.m.

Middle school girls’ soccer team ends season with winning record

The girls’ middle school soccer team ended the season last week on a 2-0 loss to Marble Falls, but that was their only loss over the five games this year.Lampasas finished 3-1-1 over the course of the season, which included a draw against Jarrell and a couple of wins over Burnet.

All the Lady Badger varsity softball players received All-District recognition at the end of the season – either for academics or because of their play on the field. And in many cases, players got both awards.

On Tuesday night, the Lampasas tennis team gathered for its annual banquet with approximately 80 guests in attendance.“We handed out certificates to everyone, watched a video of the year, handed out the Battlin’ Badger award to Allison Valdez and Brock Messinger,” head coach Kenneth Peiser said.

Badger basketball splits final games of Salado summer league

The Salado summer league wrapped up on Wednesday, as the Badgers took on Jarrell and Gatesville.They beat the Cougars 38-29 and came up short in a comeback effort against Gatesville, losing 60-54 after trailing by as much as 19.

The Badgers’ end-of-year baseball banquet took place Tuesday night in the high school cafeteria. Many of the players received All-District recognition, and the team awards were distributed.

Youth tennis camp to begin next week

The annual summer tennis camp will be held May 20-23 at the high school tennis courts.The camp will run from 8-11:30 a.m. each morning, but it will be split up by age groups.Starting from 8-9 a.m.

Badger tennis finishes season at regional tournament

Members of the Lampasas tennis team traveled to Bryan last week for a chance to qualify for the state tournament.Allison Valdez was the lone singles player to make the regional tournament for the Badgers. She was unable to make a bid for state after losing in the quarterfinals.

Lady Badger golf team finishes sixth at state tournament

The Lady Badger golf team has been almost a permanent fixture at the state golf tournament year after year, and the girls were there once again in 2024.The Lady Badgers tied for sixth place with Fredericksburg at +100 strokes over the two-day event.
