Youth will fish at Brook Park in annual Spring Ho event

The Kiddie Fishing Derby will take place from 8-10 a.m. Wednesday at W.M. Brook Park.Youth ages 5 to 12 will line the creek in the park with cane poles and many different forms of bait to try and catch some fish during the 2024 Spring Ho event.There is no registration required to participate.

Confidence, excitement seen in Badger football camp as season approaches

It may be only July, but football season is closer than one would think. The Badgers will be back on that historic grass field in the blink of an eye.Over the course of the summer, the team has been able to spend around 45 minutes to an hour together most days after SWAT conditioning workouts.

Local youngsters learn the basics of golf at annual camp

The annual Badger golf camp took place in the morning Monday and Tuesday at Hancock Park Golf Course.The boys and girls were split into two groups: a beginner group and an intermediate group. The beginners’ camp ran from 8-9:30 a.m., and the intermediate camp extended from 10-11:30 a.m. both days.

SWAT and summer workouts have reached the July break

Summer SWAT workouts have seen some of the biggest numbers ever this year, with nearly 400 middle school and high school athletes in attendance on some days. The conditioning program has even maintained more than 200 athletes this late in the process.

Lady Badgers split games to close out home summer league

The Lady Badger basketball team finished its home summer league this month with a win over Hamilton and a close loss to Burnet.The girls completed the month of June by playing multiple games each Monday at the high school.The Lady Badgers beat Hamilton 33-29 in the first game on Monday.

Older boys’ and girls’ basketball camps held this week

Badgers close out summer league in tight loss

Two points is all that separated the Badgers from Austin High in the final summer league game of the season.The Badgers suffered a 20-18 loss in the singleelimination tournament in Georgetown on June 19.
