Lampasas tennis team wins in dominant fashion once again

Last Friday, the tennis team hit the road to Ellison, but the match was cut short by some unexpected lightning. “The kids had been playing for about two hours, and we got a warning of lightning within 10 miles of us,” head coach Kenneth Peiser said.

Lady Badgers struggle against Brownwood

The Lady Badger volleyball team didn’t have its best night in Tuesday’s loss to the Brownwood Lady Lions. The final score was 25-10, 25-18, 25-9 over the three sets.Lampasas made too many mistakes against a good Brownwood team.

Dove season officially opens Sept. 1, and Lampasas County could see a better year for birds than in the recent past.Lampasas County Game Warden Brett Hernandez is stationed here for his first dove season after moving to Lampasas from McMullen County in South Texas last fall.

Badgers take on opponent for first time in scrimmage against Gatesville

The first scrimmage of the season is officially in the books for Badger football after the team took on Gatesville last Friday.The two squads went back and forth swapping possessions for the first 45 minutes of the scrimmage before they went into a live quarter with a 15-minute running clock.

Volleyball team wins bracket at Killeen tournament

The Lady Badger volleyball team traveled to Killeen last week for its first tournament of the season and played eight games over Thursday, Friday and Saturday.In the pool play games on Thursday and Friday, the Lady Badgers got a win via forfeit over Ennis.

Annual golf tournament to benefit medical center

AdventHealth Central Texas Foundation will host its annual golf tournament on Sept. 6 at the Stonetree Golf Club in Killeen.Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and the scramble starts at 8:30 a.m. Participants may register with a team or as an individual player.
