Tennis sisters make history, win silver medal at state tournament

Caroline White and Madelynn White are siblings who got the opportunity to play tennis together in high school for just one season, as Caroline is a senior and Madelynn is a freshman.The sisters made the most of that opportunity, reaching the finals of the state tennis tournament in girls’ doubles.

May ball underway; Badger football on deck

With the beginning of May always comes the start of the next football season. The Badgers began May ball this week which marks the first time the team has conducted any football activity since last season ended.

Many youth sports camps scheduled through this month

The end of the school year always brings a plethora of youth sports camps to the forefront for young athletes in Lampasas.The first camp on the schedule is a first grade through fifth grade football camp May 11-13. It will take place from 4-6 p.m. each day and costs $35.

Lady Badger golf team finishes sixth at state tournament

The golf season officially came to an end Tuesday as the Lady Badgers wrapped up the state tournament with a sixth-place finish. The girls shot 36 strokes better in round two compared to round one.The Lady Badgers shot 372-336-708 over the twoday event at Legends Golf Club in Kingsland.

Hornet golfer finishes sixth at state tournament

Last week, Lometa Hornet David Carr got his shot at the state golf tournament, and he finished tied for sixth in the 1A high school classification.Carr shot 78 on the first day and 85 on the second day to round out the tournament.After the first round, Carr sat tied for third place.
