Wanda was born on Dec. 13, 1941 in Briggs to Eugene and Mollie (Finchum) Davis.

She grew up in Lampasas and Houston. She graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Houston in 1960, where she was a member of the drill team and drum line.

After high school, Wanda attended business school in Houston and received a certificate in secretarial services. She then began work in the typing pool for the Federal Bureau of Investigation at the Houston office, where she worked for two years.

She was employed at Peoples National Bank in Lampasas as the executive secretary for bank president L.E. Davis for 10 years. After that, she joined her husband, Max, at his pharmacy, The Pillbox, in Lampasas for 14 years, where she processed billing and ran the gift shop. Wanda took great pride in acquiring unusual gift items to display and sell.

Wanda started her own business, D'Verse Solutions, in Killeen, where she was a contracted vocational counselor with the state of Texas. For the 27 years she ran this company, Wanda helped countless individuals with physical and mental disabilities prepare for and find employment.

Wanda married Max Berry on Jan. 27, 1962, in Houston. They were married for 64 years.

Wanda and Max moved from Houston to Lampasas in 1964 and lived there for 51 years before moving to Sun City in Georgetown in 2015. In 2024, Wanda and Max moved to Abilene to be closer to family.

Wanda and her family were members of Central Christian Church in Lampasas, where she served as a deaconess and helped plan many church activities. She also was a member of Beta Mu sorority for several years and worked on the Spring Ho Committee.

Wanda enjoyed many hobbies, including reading, needlepoint, dancing, snow skiing and world travel, but she especially enjoyed going on cruises. Wanda also spent much time at the lake, where she enjoyed lying in the sunshine and reading.

After moving to Sun City, Wanda and Max became involved in multiple clubs, including The Zoomers Cruise Club, the Country Western Dance Club and a wine tasting club. Wanda also enjoyed meeting with her friends at Wriggley's Pub in Sun City every Tuesday, where she shared appetizers, Mexican martinis and laughs with friends.

Wanda and Max were avid dancers and attended many dances in the Sun City community. Wanda was also committed to exercise and being healthy. For decades, she went to the gym several times a week. She also loved walking and often met her 10,000-steps-a-day goal before noon while walking on the nature trails near her Sun City home.

Wanda loved being a 'Mimi' to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored.

In addition, Wanda and Max had two exchange students from Spain, Olga and Katya Ximenez de Olaso Serna, live with them while attending Lampasas High School in 1992 and 1996, respectively. Wanda later made many trips to Spain to visit them and their children.
