Mr. Erwin

Robert Oscar “Bob” Erwin Jr., 98, died on April 11, 2026, at AdventHealth Rollins Brook in Lampasas.

A private graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery on April 18, 2026. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.

Robert was born on Oct. 17, 1927, in Fort Payne, Alabama, to Robert Oscar Erwin Sr. and Minnie Lyons Erwin.

He grew up in Fort Payne, and served in the U.S. Navy and fought in World War II. He then served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War.

He began work at Fort Hood in civil service, where he later retired. In years past, he also served as an elder at Central Christian Church in Lampasas and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Lampasas.

Robert was preceded in death by the love of his life, Daisy Lee Erwin. Robert and Daisy were married for 49 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Erwin Slobod and husband Robert of Round Rock, and son Robert Dean Erwin and wife Sharon of Kempner; by grandchildren Shannon Kornegay and husband Billy of Rockdale, Christen Gray and husband Brian of Round Rock, Alan Erwin and wife Misty of Kempner, and Amy Aldridge and husband James of Lampasas; and three great-grandchildren, Jaxon Erwin of Kempner, and Daniel and Ruth Aldridge of Lampasas.
