John Paul Clayton, 19, of Lampasas, died on May 11, 2026.
Rosary will be recited at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on May 14 at 6 p.m., with visitation to follow until 8 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on May 15 at 10 a.m., with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
John Paul was deeply loved by his family and everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Janet Clayton; his father, Nick Clayton; sisters Ashley Clayton, and Victoria and her husband Richard Talmage; and his niece, Dahlia Talmage.
John Paul grew up in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School in 2024.
After high school, he worked as an electrician apprentice and was looking forward to joining the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union.
John Paul had a love for the outdoors and being surrounded by nature. He enjoyed hiking with his friends at Colorado Bend State Park and especially exploring and hunting arrowheads at Sulphur Creek with his dogs Conan and Rocket.
He had a passion for cooking and trying new foods. He was always in the kitchen making something new for the family.
