Program on canning, preserving set at Burnet Extension office

The Highland Lakes Master Gardener Association will offer a Green Thumb Program July 17 from 2-3 p.m. at the AgriLife Extension Office, 607 N. Vandeveer in Burnet.

Sewing sessions available for youth

County Extension Agent Karen DeZarn will offer a workshop for first-time sewers ages 8-12, and another session for teen sewers.The two-day Young Sewer Workshop will be July 21-22 from 1-4 p.m.The Teenager Sewer Workshop will be July 23 and July 25, also from 1-4 p.m.

Food Handler classes slated

Food Handler Classes – in English and Spanish – are being offered July 23-24 at 10 a.m. at the Lampasas County Office Building conference room, 409 S. Pecan St.The English session will be July 23, with the Spanish session to take place July 24. Register by contacting Karen DeZarn at kjdezarn@ag.

Former Lampasas band director arrested on felony charge

Former Lampasas High School and Middle School band director Jeremy Flint was arrested by authorities July 3 on a charge of improper relationship between an educator and student, a second-degree felony.Bond was set at $750,000.

Suspension bridge closed as water rises

Lampasas woman faces first-degree felony charge after stabbing fiancé

A 30-year-old Lampasas woman was arrested by the Lampasas Police Department for allegedly stabbing her fiancé in the right buttocks in an incident that occurred at 1300 Central Texas Expwy. during the early hours of June 28.
