Sewing sessions available for youth

County Extension Agent Karen DeZarn will offer a workshop for first-time sewers ages 8-12, and another session for teen sewers.The two-day Young Sewer Workshop will be July 21-22 from 1-4 p.m.The Teenager Sewer Workshop will be July 23 and July 25, also from 1-4 p.m.

Food Handler classes slated

Food Handler Classes – in English and Spanish – are being offered July 23-24 at 10 a.m. at the Lampasas County Office Building conference room, 409 S. Pecan St.The English session will be July 23, with the Spanish session to take place July 24. Register by contacting Karen DeZarn at kjdezarn@ag.

Suspension bridge closed as water rises

In this photograph, taken on the north side of the pedestrian bridge in W.M. Brook Park, a goose seemingly surveys the scene of fast-moving waters in Sulphur Creek. Weather tracker video crews from area television stations converged on the local recreational site to document the high waters.
