New city manager chosen, set to start in early September

After an executive session during Monday’s meeting of the Lampasas City Council, Mayor Pro Tem Cathy Kuehne made a motion to authorize the city attorney to execute an employment contract for the position of city manager, effective Sept. 2.

Commissioners Court to fund rural HOP service

Residents in the unincorporated areas of Lampasas County will see services from the Hill Country Transit District – known as “the HOP” – return in 2026.

The Lampasas County Historical Commission is seeking a Texas Historical Marker for the Lometa School. Total cost is $2,500. Donations are requested to make this marker possible. Funds are needed by mid-September.The Lometa Class of 1963 has chipped in $430, but more is needed.

Klose relatives to hold 104th family reunion

The Klose family will celebrate more than a century of gatherings when family members meet Saturday. The 104th reunion is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the First Street Church of Christ fellowship hall.Klose reunions are always held the first Saturday of August.
