Creek project continues to move forward

By Thanksgiving, Lampasas residents could have a developed walking trail available along Sulphur Creek between the Western Street and Fourth Street bridges, according to Forward Lampasas members Deorald Finney and Joe Abel.

Animal feed measure on Texas ballots

The Nov. 4 Constitutional Amendment Election includes a proposition to exempt from property taxes any animal feed that is held in inventory for retail sale. Animal feed already is exempt from local sales taxes.

Farm Bureau says U.S. beef market should be allowed to operate freely

Texas Farm Bureau President Russell Boening has issued a statement in response to the United States Department of Agriculture’s “Plan to Fortify the Beef Industry” and speculation that increased beef imports will be sought by the Trump administration.

LHS student selected for FFA National Band

Lampasas High School senior Hanna Blaha is in the Hoosier State this week as a member of the FFA National Band.Blaha, a flutist, will perform in the 70-member band during the 98th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis that begins tomorrow and runs through Saturday.
