November sales tax rebates showed gains this month for the cities of Lampasas, Kempner and Lometa, plus Lampasas County.The highest percentage jump for November was noted in Lometa at 20%.

Cost of Thanksgiving turkey spikes this year

Prices for centerpiece turkeys are up, but overall consumers are likely to see a mixed bag of price increases and decreases as they shop for traditional Thanksgiving holiday meals, according to a recent news release from Texas A&M AgriLife.

Committee open to tax rate hike

Lampasas ISD’s Facilities Planning Committee was unable to settle on a bond proposal after members reviewed four possible scenarios during Monday’s meeting at the Lampasas Middle School cafeteria.

City Council OKs contract for sponsorship opportunities

After two consecutive meetings with long discussions regarding the city’s Parks and Recreation Department entering into a contract with Sportsman Solutions of Iowa to seek possible sponsorships on parks and other facilities, the Lampasas City Council voted 4-2 to approve the agreement.

City crews hang Christmas lights around the downtown square and county courthouse on Monday and Tuesday to ring in holiday cheer.

McGehee honored as Community Champion

Family members of the late Johnnie Roberts McGehee Jr. were presented with this wooden key to the city and a certificate to honor him as a Community Champion. McGehee died in June. He had served with the United States Postal Service in Lampasas for 29 years.
