Burn ban lifted through Monday afternoon

Lampasas County Judge Randy Hoyer has extended the order temporarily lifting the outdoor burn ban so that it now expires at 5 p.m. Dec. 8.Landowners are encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office at 512-556-8255 prior to conducting a burn and to exercise caution when burning brush.

Dermatology care available now in Lampasas County

U.S. Dermatology Partners has announced the opening of its new office in Lampasas, the first dedicated dermatology clinic to serve Lampasas County residents.The clinic is located in the Lampasas Specialty Clinic facility at 207 West Avenue F, just behind AdventHealth Rollins Brook.

Lampasas County remains drought-free, acording to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor data available at press time. Areas in white on the map above are drought-free, including some of the Dallas area, greater Waco and Midland.

Dressing up the downtown area for Christmas

KWSC seeks new contract

Kempner Water Supply Corp. General Manager Bruce Sorenson believes now is the time for the city of Lampasas to renegotiate its contract with the water supplier.Sorenson believes KWSC members are shouldering the cost for the water Lampasas receives from Central Texas Water Supply Corp.

Peak travel coincides with moderate prices, mild weather

On what was expected to be a record-setting weekend for travel, drivers generally saw moderate fuel prices. The AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch reported a statewide average of $2.70 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel as the week of the Thanksgiving holiday started.Nationwide, the average price was $3.
