Lometa to host FFA stock show

The annual Lometa FFA Stock Show continues to grow. The event, slated for Saturday, expects to see approximately 200 entries, according to Lometa FFA adviser Dusty Mahan.Check-in and weigh-in begins at 7 a.m., followed by the show at 9 a.m.

City Council considers rodeo arena agreement

A discussion over use of the rodeo arena and a possible partnership between the Lampasas County Rodeo Association and the Lampasas Riding Club was the highlight of the action from Monday night’s Lampasas City Council meeting.

To help beat the holiday stress and keep the heart strong, area residents are invited to a Wellness Seminar Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.The event is sponsored by Lampasas Community Gardens. Suggested donation is $25 at the door.

Christmas on the Creek reflects true meaning of holiday

The lighted nativity reflects in Sulphur Creek. This will be one of the featured displays at Saturday’s Christmas on the Creek event at W.M. Brook Park. Family friendly activities will be available for people of all ages to enjoy.

Museum names winners of annual tree decorating, gingerbread contests

In conjunction with the Carol of Lights festivities, Lampasas County Museum offered its Christmas tree Decorating Contest and a Gingerbread House Contest for area residents to enter.Theme for this year’s contests was “A Christmas Carol.”The following awards were listed.

TV series creator makes Storm’s stop

Having a bite to eat at Storm’s Drive-In last week was Shane McAuliffe, creator of “The Texas Bucket List.” His TV series features the stops, stories and people quintessential to Texas heritage. McAuliffe was spotted by local resident Patsy Stoneham.

Santa pays visit to Sylvia Tucker Memorial Park

The jolly man from the North Pole was quite busy last week at Kempner’s Christmas In The Park event, as he visited with children to hear their special wishes and posed for photos.
