Corix Utilities, the provider for the city of Lometa’s water system, issued a boil water notice to customers on Wednesday. An email alert late Wednesday afternoon from Corix stated, “a contractor hit our water main while working in your service area. Crews are orking to make necessary repairs now.

Jerry Harrison announces candidacy for district clerk

Jerry Harrison has filed for a place on the March 3, 2026 Republican Primary ballot as a candidate for Lampasas County district clerk. The position is currently held by his wife, Edith Wagner Harrison, who is now running for county judge.

The Lometa ISD will be under new leadership next school year, as Superintendent Rob Moore announced at Tuesday’s Board of Trustees meeting he will resign effective June 30, 2026.

Club members celebrate upcoming holiday

The ’36 Club met Dec. 11 for its annual Christmas social event. Members enjoyed a soup and sandwich lunch with desserts. Each club member brought new, non-slip socks that were delivered to area nursing homes for residents. The next meeting will be Jan. 8 at 3:30 p.m.
