Sparks fly during Fastest Torch contest

LISD inches closer to finalizing bond propositions

The Lampasas ISD Board of Trustees is just weeks away from calling a May 2026 bond election that will include a new Lampasas Middle School campus.During Monday’s called meeting, trustees brainstormed possible bond proposals and what the tax impacts could be on residents.

Dawn’s early light greets county residents

Bright orange clouds Tuesday morning near Nix contrast with a pale-blue sky at daybreak. Despite increased cloud cover this week, that area of the county continued a streak of 45 days without any measurable precipitation, as of press time Thursday.

Livestock association ready for 2026 show

With more than 670 entries and 200 exhibitors, the 2026 Lampasas County Youth Livestock Show that begins Wednesday is poised to be the biggest yet.Last year, the stock show set a record of $765,000 for the premium sale.
