The report from the June 7 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 281, compared to 296 last sale and 382 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were $10-- $15 higher. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were steady.

Hiring event set for June 14

Workforce Solutions of Central Texas – in partnership with the Lampasas Economic Development Corp., Texas Veterans Commission and the Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce – will host this year’s job fair. The Annual Lampasas Hiring Event will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

College for Kids 2023 underway at LCHEC

This week, the Lampasas County Higher Education Center kicked off its College for Kids summer learning program, with help from the Lampasas Police Department. On Tuesday and Wednesday, children ages 7 to 11 participated in the Jr. Police Academy at the center.

Library events scheduled for June

Many events are in store for the month of June at the Lampasas Public Library. The summer reading program has begun for children of all ages. Two different programs are available: one for children ages 3-10, and one for older kids and teens (ages 11-17).
