Parking lot preparations complete

Road crews completed their work Thursday on the asphalt parking lot that fills the former site of the Lampasas County Jail on East Fourth Street. The lot was striped Friday afternoon so it will be available for Spring Ho attendees eyeing a parking spot for the downtown festival activities.

Vision Lampasas celebrated its newest mural Sunday afternoon with an official unveiling of the artwork, anchored to the Spring Ho Committee building at 304 Spring Ho Ave.

Affirmative action decision to have little effect on Texas universities

College admissions across the country no longer will be able to consider the race of applicants. On Thursday, a 6-3 ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court effectively ended the practice known as affirmative action.

City, KWSC purchase water pump generator after recent power outage

Lampasas City Council and Kempner Water Supply Corp. have agreed on the joint purchase of an emergency generator to prevent power loss at a local pump station.

Explosion of bubble foam fills the air
