Quest for Texas Best competition names former Lampasans the big winner

For the past decade, H-E-B grocery has offered its Quest for Texas Best competition, scouring the state for the finest local products to feature on its store shelves.

Dealing with tree surface roots that pop up

Roots erupting through the soil surface that extend beyond the tree trunk are known as surface roots. This is a normal part of aging for shallowrooted trees. The aging roots increase in circumference just like the tree’s branches and trunk.
