A Kempner resident was arrested early Friday morning on two first-degree charges after he allegedly pointed a firearm at two Kempner Police Department officers Wednesday evening. Steven Neal, 25, is facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a public servant.

Freezing precipitation on the horizon for county

This weekend could be a great time to stay inside as temperatures are set to drop into the teens and possibly single digits, with winter precipitation that could include freezing rain and snow, according to the National Weather Service.
